BIN ROYE- MOVIE REVIEW

07:44:00

Eid mubarak my lovely followers,I believe everyone of you had a great family time.Being a karachiite we do not have many options available for family entertainment and fun.Besides food and a good movie to watch and that too if you have booked yourself a seat beforehand, you are left with nothing but extremely crowded scenarios.

Well this year we had three movies to choose from and just before the release the so pakistani spirit arouse in me and I opted for BIN ROYE which my sister literally blamed for upon hearing mixed reviews and for not choosing the so block buster release of the year Bajrangi Bhaijan. Well did I also regret spending some bucks on it and was it worth watching? Lets move onto the review spot on.

Lets break the review into the following :

STORY

Bin Roye starring Humayon Saeed as Irtiza ,Mahira Khan as Saba ,Armeena Khan as Saman is a Momina Duraid production based on the novel Bin Roye Aansoo of Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Shahzad Kashmiri.

From the very start of the movie Saba is shown to be so much in love with Irtiza, who is her first cousin.she is so much obsessed with him and despite the so obvious camaraderie between the two,Irtiza falls in love with Saman and marries her.Saman is sister to Saba and lives in America.
Saba on the other hand is shown all devastated and broken but eventually accepts the bitter truth.

Then comes the second half of the movie which was comparatively slow and dragged a lot near the end. Saba and Irtiza were finally able to tie the knot but the transition was not smooth for Saba as she held herself responsible for her sisters tragic demise.

Story was definitely not a run of the mill type but it lacked in raising the emotions of its audience, with some obvious loopholes.A drama serial with such a story line and cast would do wonders. However, for a film it has to have some trill.

I would rate it 2/5

ACTING

Humayon saeed really acted well and carried the aura quite decently. There were not much scenes of him and he had a narrow scope to show his acting skills, but still wins in producing a long lasting impact.

Mahira Khan with most of the screen space didn't impress me much because her acting always reminds me of Humsafar and Shehre zaat which means her acting lacked diversity. But lets not put all the blame on her,it was her role which had not many options to branch out. But on the whole and minus the diversity part, she really brought the house down.

The rest of the characters also played really well specially the grandmother(Azra Mansoor) who always puts me in an awe with her so graceful acting.

I would rate it 4/5

MUSIC

Music was the best part of the movie, each and every song made me rethink if its a Pakistani flick.Balle Balle composed by Shiraz Uppal and Maula Maula sung by the legendary Abida Perveen had to be my two most favorite.
To talk of Balle Balle; its been filmed really well and with Adeel Hussain's guest appearance it was a double treat to watch.

All stars for the music .5/5

Final Verdict

Momina Duraid and Shahzad Kashmiri captured some most beautiful shots and made this flick an eye candy. With some great direction, masterful acting, gorgeous attires and melodious off-beat music this movie is deemed to perform well at the box office. However, I still wish for a more powerful story line.

Have you watched the movie or are planning to watch ? Do let me know in the comments below.
